Our story & mission

The world's biggest problems require exceptional founders

Humanity faces existential systemic risks: climate breakdown, ecosystem collapse, deepening inequality, cascading resilience failures.

These aren't problems governments or philanthropy can solve alone—they require entrepreneurial innovation, commercial discipline, and scalable solutions built by exceptional founders.

But here's the problem:

The world's most talented people rarely choose to build ventures addressing these challenges.

Why? Because the pathway isn't clear.

The Thesis

The people who could build the next category-defining company should be building the ventures that ensure humanity has a livable future.

We exist to make that pathway as compelling, credible, and well-supported as possible

A talent-first venture builder for global systemic risks

Purposepreneurs™ is a 6 month programme that identifies exceptional individuals before they have ventures, supports them in finding co-founders, building the companies that will tackle the world's biggest problems, and connects them to institutional capital.

You don't need:
-
An existing venture or business idea
- A co-founder (we help you find one)
- Prior startup experience (though many participants have it)
- Wealth or financial runway (we provide stipend support)
- Connections to investors (we provide access)

You do need:
-
Exceptional capability and ambition
- Deep commitment to solving systemic risks
- Willingness to build commercially viable solutions (not nonprofits)
- Ability to navigate complexity and uncertainty
- Urgency about the problems we face

What we provide

A programme like no other, What you get that alternatives can't provide.

Find your Co-Founder

The challenge: The best ventures are built by complementary co-founding teams, but finding the right co-founder is extraordinarily difficult.

What we provide:
Intensive 3-month cohort experience with 20-30 exceptional individuals all searching for co-founders. Structured matching process, deep collaboration, and facilitated team formation. You're not searching alone—you're building with peers who share your urgency.

Monthly Stipend while you build

The challenge: Building a venture requires full-time focus, but most people can't afford to work unpaid for 6-12 months.

What we provide:
2,500 CHF/month stipend (adjusted by location) for 6 months, covering your living costs so you can focus entirely on building. No equity required during stipend period. You maintain ownership while getting supported.

Cohort of Exceptional Peers

The challenge: Building ventures is lonely, especially when solving problems most people don't understand or care about deeply.

What we provide:
Lifelong network of 20-30 peers per cohort who share your urgency, ambition, and commitment. These become co-founders, advisors, collaborators, friends, and the community that sustains you through the hard years of building.

Path to Institutional Capital

The challenge: Impact investors and DFIs are notoriously hard to access for early-stage founders—long timelines, opaque processes, institutional barriers.

What we provide:
Direct path to Artamis Capital (first-look investment rights for graduates) plus introductions to our LP network: impact investors, family offices, DFIs, climate funds. We bridge the gap between early-stage ventures and institutional capital.

Distributed renewable energy and grid resilience
- Industrial decarbonization and hard-to-abate sectors
- Climate adaptation infrastructure and services
- Carbon removal and sequestration at scale

Nature Collapse and Ecosysem Health

We're in the sixth mass extinction. 1 million species at risk. Ecosystem services worth $125 trillion/year degrading. Nature loss creates systemic financial, food security, and health risks.

Venture opportunities:

-
Regenerative agriculture and soil restoration
- Ocean health and blue economy solutions
- Biodiversity monitoring and nature tech
- Nature-based solutions and ecosystem services
- Sustainable forestry and deforestation reversal
- Nature restoration finance and markets
- Zoonotic disease prevention (One Health approaches)

Inequality & Financial Exclusion

2 billion people lack access to formal financial services. Wealth concentration deepening. Climate impacts fall hardest on most vulnerable. Inequality creates fragility, conflict, and lost human potential.

Venture opportunities:

- AI governance and fairness
- Financial inclusion and inclusive finance models
- Digital services for underserved populations
- Gender lens investing and women's economic empowerment
- SME and agricultural finance in emerging markets
- Affordable essential services (health, education, housing)
- Community wealth-building and cooperative models

Systemic Resilience

Interconnected systems (food, water, energy, health, finance) increasingly fragile. Climate shocks, pandemics, and supply chain disruptions reveal systemic vulnerability. Building resilience is survival.

Venture opportunities:

- AI safety and technology robustness
- Distributed infrastructure and local production
- Pandemic preparedness and biosurveillance
- Food systems resilience and alternative proteins
- Water security and sanitation solutions
- Supply chain transparency and resilience tech
- Health system resilience and AMR solutions
